On October 31, 1517, Luther posted a document containing 95 "theses" against the practice of selling indulgences on the door of the castle church in Wittenberg. Tradition has it that Martin intended this dramatic gesture as a sign of his indignation against the errors of the Church, but he himself never imagined it would receive such resonance as to become the event conventionally attributed by historians to the beginning of the Protestant Reformation, which would so profoundly change the face of the Church in Northern Europe and beyond.
Today, 500 years later, what remains of the spirit of the Reformation in churches and society? What, if any, has changed, based on the principle that "the Reformed Church is always reforming"? What are the roots of the Adventist Church, which lie in the Reformation? These and other topics are addressed in this booklet, which recounts facts, figures, and events from evangelical history through 95 answers to as many questions, precisely to retrace, at least formally, that small yet great document with which that history began.
