The author

Antonio Caracciolo was born in Mercedes, Uruguay, in 1925 to Italian parents. From 1942 to 1946, he studied theology at the Adventist Institute of Biblical Culture in Florence. After obtaining a diploma qualifying him for pastoral ministry, he served as pastor of the Adventist Church in Florence and then of the Adventist Church in Bologna until 1949. From 1950 to 1966, he was editor of the magazines "Segni dei Tempi" and "Il Messaggero Avventista," and coordinator of religious book production.
In 1963 and again in 1970, he attended refresher courses in France and England organized by Andrews University, Michigan. In 1966, he began teaching Old Testament at the Villa Aurora Adventist Theological Seminary in Florence. He currently teaches exegesis of the books of Daniel and Revelation at the same institution.
He published for Edizioni ADV the book of biblical stories Heroes and Events of Sacred History and, for the Theological Seminary, the manual Principles of Homiletics .

The book

The interpretative method used in this commentary is the historical-continuous one, which, besides being the oldest, has also been the most widely followed in the long history of Daniel exegesis. The reliability of the accounts and the authenticity of the prophecies are supported, where possible, by existing historical and archaeological documentation. The prophecies are also interpreted in light of the major events of universal history.
A manual aimed at theology students but also at anyone who wishes to delve deeper into an important and complex book of the Bible. To "understand and make others understand."
