GENESIS ACCORDING TO JOHN

Genesis according to John offers an interesting dialogue between two biblical books particularly rich in theological foundations: Genesis and the Gospel of John.
The author argues that the Gospel of John was deliberately written by reproducing passages from the first part of the book of Genesis, in order to proclaim Jesus Christ as the Word who, as the instrument of creation, is also the promise of the new creation. While Genesis shows how the treasure chest of truth from creation reaches Israel through generations of human beings who witnessed God's saving words and deeds, the Gospel of John reveals how that treasure chest reached not only Israel, but, in Christ Jesus, all nations.
