Gianfranco Rossi has been a staunch defender of the right to freedom of conscience and religion for over fifty years, first in Italy and then internationally. For over two decades, he cooperated with the United Nations (UN) in Geneva, appearing annually before the Commission on Human Rights on behalf of religious freedom in many countries around the world.

Dr. Rossi has recorded, in an organized form for our "eternal memory," important events and issues, correspondence, and government decisions in the field of religious freedom. He has been able to gather valuable documentation, mostly letters and government documents, which present the chronology of the difficult but rewarding process that, starting from discrimination and intolerance, arrives, not without struggle, at religious freedom.
